"You and farmer's wife?! You could be something better..." - Silke (39) is a farmer. That was her dream as a girl, and it's her passion today. Together with her sons Max (16) and Moritz (11), she manages her parents' farm, a family business with 70 dairy cows and almost 200 hectares of arable land. The milk price too low, the seed too expensive - no matter, she'll manage, she says. One day, she hopes, her eldest son will take over the family farm and modernize it. The grandmother milks, the grandfather takes care of the pitfalls of the old technology, and the two sons plow and mow.
